It implements only the true-color joint encoding. Some feature are not yet available, as you can see on the Hardware/Software requirements page. The application is much faster and more stable than the original IFSAF, and the source code is more readable. The user-interface is more friendly and follows the Windows guidelines, the program makes some more controls on user actions, leading to an easier use.
It is important to understand that the IFSAF was not intended for final-users, neither for
developers that would include FIC capabilities in their products. It was
intended for use in the research and educational areas. So no FIC library is directly derivable
from IFSAF source code.
Besides, it can be a good starting point for building such a library, some effort
is required, anyway, to make the encoder accept all the image sizes. Also, in true applications, the
fractal coefficients should be compressed in a no-lossy way, through a maximun entropy algorithm such
as huffman or arithmetic encoding, since their frequency distributions are not uniform.
